Burton Township Board met Sept. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Supervisor Jones called the regular monthly meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in the Village Hall, Spring Grove, IL.

Roll call present: Supervisor Flood, Road Commissioner Sutton, Clerk Shetsky, Trustees; Eileen Miller, Ted Trzaskowski, Merrilee Anhalt, Dennis Reichert and Assessor, Jessica Huber.

Supervisor Flood led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the regular meeting held on August 13, 2019 were read.

Trustee: Merrilee Anhalt made a motion to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Trustee: Eileen Miller, the accounts payable were presented for payment for the various funds, they were audited, initialed and ordered paid.

Supervisors Report

- John is still in transition and asked that we notify him if we see any errors on his end. In the meantime, he has been working on many different issues.

- We have one EA/GA request.

- We are having issues with our website, GO DADDY. John and April are looking for an IT support person being that neither of us have computer knowledge.

- John hired Mr. Miller to repair that hole in the wall and paint the area.

- He hired Sue Popelka to clean the hall once a month. John and April will be working in the hall 70% of the time.

- John inherited a stack of filing he is working on.

- TOIRMA has been given the updated information for Burton Township coverage.

- April and Dan have provided the information needed for John to move forward with the Audit.

- John met with Craig Adams; from McHenry Township. He provided John with a lot of information to help him in the new position.

- John has a meeting scheduled to meet with Paul, from Richmond Township to sign the Inner Governmental Agreement re: Senior transportation.

Road and Bridge:

- Mr. Anderson requested a copy of the mileage of our roads and maps. Dan submitted this right away.

- We have an abandoned boat on one of our roads. This may cost approximately $700.00 to have this towed. Dan has a lead on who did this and hold them responsible.

Assessor Report:

- Jessica has submitted her assessments for publication to the County. She has not heard anything back as of yet.

- She has calculated rebates for cell towers.

- She worked on rebate letters for residents.

- One resident was disgruntled over a nearby park.

Clerks Report:

April submitted the Oath of office for Ted and John to the county.

Trustees Report:

No report at this time.

New Business:

- Our accountant, prepared the Financial report for the fiscal year.

Trustee: Eileen Miller made a motion to accept the financial report as is and was seconded by Trustee: Merrilee Anhalt. Voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.

This report will be sent to the Comptroller of Illinois.

- The Treasurers report was reviewed by April and John and was sent to the county.

- Trustee: Merrilee Anhalt made a motion to accept the fee of $50.00 to be paid for reviewing our applicants for EA and GA cases. It was seconded by Trustee: Dennis Riechert. Voice vote all ayes, motion carried.

- John reached out to Craig Adams and TOI for information on what to do with our old computers, printers and monitors that no longer work. They can be given away or destroyed.

- Trustee: Ted Trzaskowski made a motion to destroy the old equipment and was seconded by Trustee: Dennis Riechert. Voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.

- We are having Issues with our website. Security, it is outdated and it is not user friendly to name a few. April and John have found an individual who is willing and capable of helping us get the Website issues resolved. His name is Alex Petersen.

- Trustee: Ted Trzaskowski made a motion to hire Alex Petersen at the rate of $20.00 per hour as our IT consultant and was seconded by Trustee: Eileen Miller. Voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.

- Mike Miller repaired the hole in the wall and painted it for $100.00.

- Our October meeting will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 due to the Supervisor being out of town on October 8th.

Adjournment of Regular Meeting:

A motion was made by Trustee: Merrilee Anhalt to adjourn the meeting at 7:26 pm, it was seconded by Trustee: Eileen Miller voice vote all ayes, motion carried.
