City of Crystal Lake issued the following announcement on Dec. 13.
EDGE Fitness Club will be opening its first McHenry County location in Crystal Lake in early 2020. The new 52,000 square foot building located between Menards and Portillo’s and the new Fairfield Inn and Suites (coming in 2020) at the corner of Route 31 and Northwest Highway, will offer an extensive selection of the latest cardio equipment and specialty classes. The EDGE Fitness Club boasts low-cost memberships, with the amenities of much pricier gyms. Crystal Lake’s location will feature cardio and strength training equipment but also an indoor turf for functional training, like throwing weighted balls against the wall or sprints. The facility will also offer yoga and spinning classes and a variety of amenities like a smoothie bar, childcare, sauna and a treadmill cinema, where you can watch movies while running on the treadmill.
The EDGE Fitness Clubs are located throughout the East Coast, in Michigan and one other Illinois location in Naperville. The company started over 30 years ago by Vin Sansone, who had this dream since he was a boy. His goal and the company’s vision today is to provide a beautiful club where members can have a great workout, the passion and focus on the member will always be most important.
