Register for Crystal Lake Park District Martial Arts classes like Shotokan Karate, Taekwondo and Hapkido and experience these benefits and so many more. Classes available for ages 3 and up. Register online today via page 45 of the digital activity guide at crystallakeparks.org. Shotokan Karate
Ages 7 & up

Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is Chicagoland's premier karate school taught under the instruction of John DiPasquale, a four-time National Champion, US National Coach and President of the US National Karate Federation. ISKC's youth and adult karate classes will put participants in touch with their bodies and offers a good mix of strength training, cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Participants increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session

Taekwondo

Taekwondo will teach participants confidence, discipline, focus, self-defense, anti-bullying, and most importantly, how to have fun! Lee's Martial Arts have been a centerpiece of Martial Arts in the area for 24 years, working with the community, local schools, Olympians, USA coaches, and World Champions. Students will want to work hard in class and make awesome memories with classmates. Instructors will create a positive but stern environment focusing on rules to aid students in learning this martial art.
Hapkido
Ages 6 & up
Mon & Wed, 4/12-5/19, 7-9 pm
Location: Spoerl Park Building
Hapkido is the Korean Art of self-defense. What distinguishes Hapkido from other traditional martial art styles is that Hapkido is both an Art of Self-Defense and an Art of Discipline. Hapkido primarily emphasizes the subduing of an opponent with minimal strength. Traditional martial art techniques; kicks, punches, forms and blocks are taught.
** Note: Youth Beginners will meet from approximately 7-8 pm.
