Columbia College issued the following announcement on Sept. 22
Columbia College of Missouri and Highland Community College officials recently announced an enhancement to their 25-year partnership. HCC employees, spouses and dependents will now receive a 15 percent discount on tuition to assist them in furthering their education at Columbia College, which has a location on the community college’s campus (Room H-124) and also offers online classes.
“We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Highland Community College even further and offer members of its community a convenient and affordable path toward earning a bachelor’s degree,” said Sarah Goeke, director of Columbia College-Freeport.
HCC is located in Freeport, Illinois and serves over 1,800 students annually. It offers over 60 degree and certificate programs that transfer conveniently over to Columbia College. HCC graduates are eligible to receive a 10% Associate Degree Transfer Grant through Columbia College immediately and can learn more about the transfer process via the college’s transfer equivalency portal.
“Highland Community College values our long-standing partnership with Columbia College and is excited to see this expanded opportunity for our students,” said Highland Community College President Christina Kuberski. “This discount on tuition makes a very affordable option for our students to continue their education and stay close to home. Hopefully, these future graduates will remain here and reinvest their newly acquired knowledge and skills in our community.”
Columbia College offers six sessions lasting eight weeks each, allowing students to complete their degree quickly. Students can earn an associate degree in 20 months, a bachelor’s degree in three-and-a-half years, and a master’s degree in only 12 months. The college is very transfer-friendly and also features the Truition® program, which offers a transparent look at the cost of college by eliminating all fees and providing books at no cost.
