Public Comment
The Board will accept public comment on items included on the meeting agenda or of a general nature. Public comment is limited to three (3) minutes per speaker.
Village President and Trustee Reports (Parks; Planning & Zoning; Special Events) Board members have the opportunity to report on any topic during the public meeting.
Staff Monthly Reports
The Board has the opportunity to ask staff questions regarding the monthly staff reports.
1. Approval: Consent Agenda – Approval via One Vote for All
All matters listed under Item 1, Consent Agenda, are considered to be routine by the Village Board and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. If a separate discussion is desired, that item should be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered separately.
A. Village Board Meeting Minutes – December 20, 2022
The Board will consider the approval of previous meeting minutes.
B. Accounts Payable – January 3, 2023 & January 17, 2023
The Board will consider the payment of bills.
C. Treasurer’s Report – November 2022
The Board will consider the approval of the monthly treasurer’s report.
D. Fireworks Contract
The Board will consider the approval of an agreement with Pyrotecnico for the 2023 Fireworks Display in the amount of $15,000.
E. Ordinance 2023-01, Surplus Property
The Board will consider the approval of an ordinance to dispose of various pieces of Public Works equipment that are no longer used.
2. Proclamation: Honoring the Cary-Grove Junior Trojans Poms 2022 Championship Teams Village President McLaughlin will read aloud a proclamation honoring the members of the 5th/6th Grade and 7th/8th Grade Cary-Grove Junior Trojans Poms Teams that took home top honors in their divisions at the 2022 National Championships.
3. Discussion: Short-Term Rentals
The Board will consider options for the potential regulation of short-term rentals in the Village. While room rentals are not currently allowed, there are no established regulations for short-term rental of entire homes.
