McHenry Times

There were 18 offenders living in McHenry County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by McHenry Times.

The data shows 15 men and three women were released in McHenry County. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2020, and the oldest was a 60-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2018.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Erik Ambroziak. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2004 when he was 32 years old. He is now 51.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
