McKenna Moore, a Social Work student from Crystal Lake, Illinois, will participate as a soprano in the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Vocal Jazz Ensemble during the 2025-26 academic year. The ensemble consists of 22 student musicians and is open to all university students through audition.
The Vocal Jazz Ensemble performs swing, jazz, and musical theatre pieces. It tours annually with the Chamber Singers and will take part in UW-Whitewater's Gala Concert. This event features nearly every student ensemble in the Department of Music, with proceeds supporting departmental scholarships.
UW-Whitewater's Department of Music is part of the College of Arts and Communication. The department prepares students for careers in performance, composing, teaching, and other music-related fields. Its ensembles have performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Symphony Center in Chicago, and locations in Germany, Poland, and England.
