Crystal Lake Central High School's cheerleading team recently took third place at the Illinois High School Association state finals, the best finish for the team in the school's history.
After the first day of competition, the team was in fifth place with a score of 86.93. However, on the second day they earned an 89.9 score in the middle division to earn third place.
Earlier in the season, the team won the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division and were sectional champions at DeKalb.
Finishing ahead of the team in the state finals were Oak Forest High School with 92.13 and Lemont High School with 90.13.
