Huntley Community School District 158 issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
The public is invited to attend a screening of the IndieFlix film Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety on October 10, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the District 158 Performing Arts Center at Huntley High School.
The event will feature a viewing of the 56-minute film followed by a short feedback session where participants will brainstorm additional ways we can continue the discussion and support.
So that parents with younger children may also attend, childcare will be offered for children ages 2-9. Please RSVP for childcare by filling out this Childcare RSVP form. Childcare will be provided by members of the HHS National Honor Society.
The filmmakers’ goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. Angst features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety and what they’ve learned about it. The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources and tools.
