Huntley Community School District 158 issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.
Huntley High School band teacher Kevin Krivosik was named Teacher of the Month by WGN-TV. Reporter Muriel Clair and award sponsor Kenneth J. Allen stopped by Mr. Krivosik’s class today to present him with the honor, as well as a $1,000 check for the school. Mr. Krivosik said the funds will go toward needed repair and cleaning of band instruments.
Mr. Krivosik was nominated for the award by one of his students. Nominees are judged on their educational achievements in the classroom, community contributions and the innovativeness of their teaching techniques.
The segment is scheduled to air on WGN at 9:00 a.m. on November 26 and 27.
