Richmond-Burton Community High School District 157 issued the following announcement on Nov. 27.

Please join us in congratulating the students and staff of Richmond-Burton Community High School on the “Exemplary” rating issued by the Illinois State Board of Education. The “Exemplary” rating is based on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The criteria for the rating is as follows:

• A school’s performance is in the top 10 percent of schools statewide
• A School’s graduation rate is greater than 67 percent
• A school has no underperforming student demographic groups.

In addition to being ranked as an “Exemplary” school by the state of Illinois, RB was also ranked this year as a “Top High School in America” by US World News and Report, and had the highest 2017 SAT scores in McHenry County.
