Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 recently issued the following announcement.
Woods Creek parent Ed Rich and colleague Chris Gisseler from Amazon Web Services assisted with Hour of Code activities during STEM class at Woods Creek Elementary School the first week of December.
Nearly 300 third, fourth and fifth graders got firsthand experience with computer coding and learned about careers in technology.
The Hour of Code, observed each year in all D47 elementary STEM classes, takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week and is a worldwide movement to expose students to computer science and computer programming through one-hour activity modules.
