Report: Prairie Grove spent $15,596 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Prairie Grove Community School District 46 is up 25.8 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $12,395 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $15,596 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 850 to 683.

Prairie Grove's spending in 2017-18 was 16.9 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
