HUNTLEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT 158: Parent University: Protecting Children from Human Trafficking and Exploitation

Human trafficking

Huntley Community School District 158 issued the following announcement on Dec. 6.

Huntley 158 will host a Parent University event on December 12 focused on protecting young people from human trafficking and exploitation. 

The event will be held in the Huntley High School cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. and will be presented by Karen Schultz of Refuge for Women and Sgt. Linda Hooten of the Huntley Police Department.

The event will include an interactive exercise with the group about what trafficking and exploitation is, a short educational film and discussion about relationship grooming through social media, strategies for remaining aware and safe, and information on trafficking and exploitation in the local area.
