Harvard Community Unit School District 50 issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
Harvard District 50 is seeking workshop presenters and resource fair vendors for its first Parent University.
Parent University is a community collaborative to help parents and caregivers become full partners in their child’s education
The free event consists of a variety of workshops on specific topics related to academic support, career and college readiness, civil rights, extra-curricular activities and outreach, financial literacy, health and mental wellness, socio-emotional learning, and technology.
The day will feature concurrent workshops in English and Spanish, along with a resource fair. The event’s goal is to promote the active role parents take in their child’s education and connect families to local community agencies.

Proposals for workshops and the resource fair are due by Friday, February 21.

The free event is on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Harvard High School, located at 1103 N. Jefferson Street, Harvard, IL 60033.
