Report: Cary School District spent $11,386 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Cary Community Consolidated School District 26 was up 9.6 percent from five years ago, according to the McHenry Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Mchenry County school district spent $10,393 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,386 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 2,438 to 2,460 students over the same period.

Cary's spending in 2019-20 was 21.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
