Analysis: Richmond-Burton administrators rank 242nd in state for average pay

Administrators in Richmond-Burton Community High School District 157 earn an average of $113,548 per year, ranking 242nd out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 7.1 percent higher than in 2016 and 0.6 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 2 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Richmond-Burton School District in Mchenry County enrolled 611 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 96 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
