Report: Nippersink spent $12,419 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Nippersink School District 2 is up 39 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $8,946 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,419 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1336 to 1144.

Nippersink's spending in 2016-17 was 4 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
