Report: Crystal Lake spent $12,180 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District 47 is up 31.5 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $9,259 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $12,180 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 7892 to 7553.

Crystal Lake's spending in 2017-18 was 8.7 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
