Administrators in Community Unit School District 300 earn an average of $104,337 per year, ranking 319th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 5.8% higher than in 2014 and 3.1% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 2.7% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Kane County school district enrolled 20985 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 175 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
